This exhibition served as a retrospective of my time in Baltimore during the 4 years that I was studying at MICA. It combines my backgrounds in printmaking, photography, and design to create a time capsule that explores the idea of memory as a fleeting concept.

Touched by Baltimore is a collection of the photos I've take in an effort to celebrate the memories I made in Baltimore of the last 4 years of my life. It also recognizes the stories and memories of others that I've collected through the process of taking and sharing these photographs and prints.

Exhibition &
Title Piece

Touched by Baltimore's title piece of the same name quite literally depicts a hand print I would walk by quite often located just a block away from my junior and senior year apartment in Reservoir Hill. It's a reminder that this city has been touched by so many lives and that the memories I've made in this city are part of a much larger collection of moments which we share together.

This piece in particular was included in portfolio swap with my printmaking class of 2025 cohort in an edition of 15 total.

One Thousand words

"One Thousand Words," which is a reference to the common saying "a picture is worth a thousand words," is a large laser cut and mono-printed relief print consisting of an exactly 1000 word thesis statement essay describing my artistic process and the themes expressed within the work of the exhibition. This piece was printed on a large 36"x36" paper in two parts and hand inked to include a silhouetted impression of the Baltimore skyline.

The Series of Nine

Nine total photographs were specifically selected from the collection to be editioned on 11"x15" Stonehenge paper. Each of these photos were taken on medium format film using a Pentax 67 and self developed and scanned before being transferred and printed through the photopolymer-gravure process.

The book

This hand crafted and printed photo book by the same name of the exhibition,  "Touched by Baltimore" is a complete collection of all 36 photopolymer-gravures within the exhibition and more. It was completely made by hand from the printed photographs, to the screen printed text and hand bound covers. This book exist in an edition of three total books.

The panoramas

Similar to the series of nine, there were also four panoramas chosen to be printed in limited editions. Two capturing the fallen Key Bridge, and two capturing the view of Baltimore's skyline from the I-95 / I-395 connector located in South Baltimore.
